I'll go first:

First aid kit (I have seen people run into trees fall down stairs, etc.)

multi tool for your belt with a mini maglite in the same holster

larger selection of tools in vehicle/ jumper cables

Flashlights with red lenses and one small green for reading charts blueprints, etc. (The lenses will protect your night vision).

Multi meter to test current and outlets.
EMF detector for base readings of the area.
3 way Geiger counter to check for Radon gas, etc.
Probe and infrared thermometer

Camera equipment including at LEAST on camcorder with Nite Shot, a 35mm camera with 6 or 800 speed film, and a quality digital.

Audio/EVP equipment....micro cassette recorders for "throw downs" in areas where an expensive DVR might get ruined, extra mics and wire to run them.

Zip ties, duct tape and electrical tape.

Holy Water and a Crucifix (don't leave home without them).

I have more but would like to see other people's ideas...show the new guy some love. Very Happy

Ivan,,,,Well, you have given this some thought I see,,,,and well thought out I might add.
Personally speaking I agree with the Cruifix and Holy water. We do have a cleansing member who also will throw in some sage. Written words would help also, open to all  beliefs, except of course the dark side.  This is in case words leave us, which is known to happen in times of duress.

Oh yeah and black and white 35mm film and road flares....you never know when a battery is going to get drained.

Drinking water from a safe source....never trust a strangers tap water.

Optional

Test kits for mold and tap water if client wants to pay for the kits. They are cheap and easy to do and may lead you to call in a professional in that  specific field for them or advise them to call.

Baby powder and a cheap dust buster

Ribbons and string, as well as balloons if you like baiting....some hematite beads, a wind chime, etc.

Hanging ribbons, wind chimes or other interesting objects has been known to achieve some really interesting results on film...also ping pong balls, etc.

Some paranormal entities seems cannot resist, especially the ghost or supposed ghost of a child.

You have to do a video documented check of any air currents or drafts in the room. Baby powder works used SPARINGLY..lol  as does very fine goose down, etc. to check for the leaky air spots.

You have me thinking on this one Ivan. I think instinctively we have baited at a few of our investigations,,,,but I realize after the interview with the client, we could come prepared with some "bait",,,,depending on the haunting.
For instance getting the feel from the client as to what the entity wants and is trying to communicate to them? it's digging deep I know, but the more questions we ask, maybe the client will reveal something they themselves were not aware of.

I am a wicca I believe that if a spirit does not go to pergatory than there spirit stays in a relm between our world and pergatory if that is the case then the best time to get get answers is dead time which is from 3am to 5am that is when the relms combine with each other so all I use is my sensitive sight as I call it, a recorder and a little antaginizing somtimes all you have to do is open your mind clear all your thoughts. spirits talk all the time, but we have our minds so jumbled trying to figure out how to catch proof that all you have to do is clear your mind close your eyes they will show there selfs and talk I have caught it on camara and evp my friend got it on thermal
