Safety issues when investigating

I will go into this more, but actually Ivan has brought up some good points,,,,physically, and mentally, that we all should be aware of, and guard against from a safety issue.
For instance should we hand out a profile for client to fill out to give us a feel for their psychological state? Or a barometer so to speak, on their stress level? Or should we do this intuitively in the initial interview?
Since I am heading case management I would appreciate your opinions on this.

Hey Patricia,

I think you have a good idea going there with the profile idea. Perhaps a questioner, not only touching on base with the client but also on the spirits that might reside within their home.

Asking clients what kind of medical and mental history (sleep apena,  dementia, depression) as well as the general overall happiness of the client can help give us insight to exactly what we are walking into. I would also suggest questions such as religion and if they have ever fooled around with garbage like Ouija Boards or the like.

I would suggest the profile also asks questions based on the activity in their home. Knowing what kind of habits the spirits might have, or even being able to guess at what kind of haunting it is, will help us plan ahead on to exactly how we might want to go about investigating the haunting in general. I would go as far as to suggest that not all hauntings might be investigated the same was as one other might be.

I think, taking that extra measure to do a pre-investigation screening beforehand will not only make the job easier, but may make the investigation go smoother and may even be more rewarding in the end.

As far as tools go for trying to tell on what level the client might be, I don't know. Some times, that sort of stuff, can actually make a person more nervous about it to begin with, giving a false reading.

As one person suggested before, it might be a good idea to bring along tools to test the general wellness of the house, such as the water, the air, ect. While every house may not be haunted, if you can help that person realize they have bad water, or mold problem, or even a dioxide problem, helping that person get better is just as good.

I realize doing a in depth investigation not only on the paranormal activity in the house, but the house itself, would not only make the investigation longer, but sometimes isn't even a possible thing to do, but might be something to take into consideration.

Pictures

Very good points. The Ouiga[spelling} for sure. Bad news. It can open some ugly doors.
At our most recent investigation,,,,there was something about the property itself, and alot of electrical stuff that left me ill at ease. Not just me, but another investigator as well. it will be an ongoing investigation.

Hey,,,I have a question,,,on one of my still pics,,,,I had two creepy looking pictures, very profound looking,,,,,,,until we put them in the computer to annalyze,,,,on there you could make out nothing. What does anyone think on that? The computer never lies?

As much as people like to rely on technology and the perfection of it, I tend to disagree. Technology tends to break down and become corrupt all the time and needs much more maintenance then most people care to admit.

A computer never lies, only because it never thinks it is lying and always assumes what is happening is correct. That is why, the end user aspect of a computer is just as important, to make sure to watch out for and catch problems with their machines.

If you captured something on film, then whatever it is on film, should show up on the computer. If it isn't showing the same as the original pictures, there could be a few things going on.  The first might be a hardware error, or even a user error. Try turning up the resolution of the picture, try playing with the settings when you get the picture on your computer, or as you get it on your computer. If there is still no luck, perhaps it is simple image matrixing?

Either way, let us know how that turns out.
patricia

Yes,,,,Matrixing indeed,,,lol. We're going to print it out and see what we get. Technical is not a strong point with me,,,,so I can use all of the help I can get,,,,,thanks.

Telling us how you get the images on the computer would be a good start. what kind of hardware are you using?
